Kaidantzis family has created Geremezi with black truffle, a soft sheep's milk cheese with pieces of black truffle by following the tradition and the trends of modern gastronomy. The family has a long tradition in cheese-making as they founded their own cheese factory in 1950 in Menidi. Today, their modern and fully equipped cheese factory is located in Markopoulo. The exquisite sheep's milk from the surrounding areas is the basis for Geremezi and then the traditional recipe meets the black truffle, creating a light and aromatic, fresh, white cheese with only 14,6% fat.
You can enjoy it plain but also spread it on bruschetta, add it to pasta and risotto, or even green salads. Pair it with a light red wine from Xinomavro or Pinot Noir and if you prefer white wine, with an oaky Chardonnay.
