How many wineries do you know that are dedicated exclusively to the production of a single wine label? Perhaps none, we would say...
The Georges de Latour Private Reserve Beaulieu Vineyards 2021 is the answer and it is a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon made from hand-selected grapes from the finest vineyards in the Rutherford AVA. There, vines planted by Georges de Latour in the early 1900s produce small berries with a high skin-to-juice ratio, which is essential for creating concentrated wines with great aging potential!
A portion of the wine is fermented in new French oak barrels, which enhance its dense, rich texture. The rest of the must is fermented in stainless steel and concrete tanks, which preserve the freshness of the fruit. A small amount of Petit Verdot (6%) is added to the Cabernet Sauvignon to enhance the wine’s aroma and flavour profile.
The 2021 vintage is truly remarkable for this iconic wine, which is why it got a stunning 95pts critic from Wine Spectator 2024. We recommend you lock it away in a dark, cool corner of your home and forget where you put the key. In this case, patience is a virtue and it will reward you!
