Château Haut-Brion - The Winery

The Haut-Brion winery is the jewel of Pessac Leognan village, on the left bank of Bordeaux, and Graves's only first growth. Haut Brion is one of Bordeaux's oldest wineries. It was founded in 1530 by the Pontac family. In the famous 1855 classification, Haut-Brion was classified as Premier Cru (First Growth) along with Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild, Latour, and Château Margaux. These 5 chateaux are the most iconic wineries in both France and the world. Every year the prices and demand for Haut-Brion wines are off the chart and for this reason collectors try to buy them en primeur before they are even bottled.

Château Haut-Brion 2014 - The Wine

97 points James Suckling, 97 points Vinous, 97 points Wine Enthusiast, 96 points Jeb Dunnuck, 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 96 points Wine Spectator. The above astronomical ratings for the exceptional vintage of 2014 made this wine quickly collectible and really hard to find. The style of the red Haut-Brion differs from the rest of the right bank. It has more Merlot while the rest have more Cabernet Sauvignon. As a result, Haut-Brion is more ethereal, richer, rounder and fruitier. The wine is fermented at controlled, high temperatures and then aged in French oak barrels (70% new) for 20-24 months. It is bottled in an elegant bottle and intended for long aging and a unique mystical experience.

1x Clarendelle Bordeaux Red 2016

The Clarendelle Bordeaux blend consists of 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc. Clarendelle Bordeaux 2016 is a fruity wine with aromas of red fruit, blackcurrant, vanilla, tobacco and chocolate. In the mouth it has a medium body, with attractive soft tannins and high acidity. Dense juicy black fruits, notes of violet, chocolate and cigar fill the palate.

1 x Clarendelle  Medoc 2018

Clarendelle Medoc 2018, inspired by Haut-Brion and excellently rated by James Suckling is a must-try wine! A blend, with the two traditional varieties of Bordeaux, 85% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon together with 1% Petit Verdot. Clarendelle Medoc 2018 has a deep purple color, with aromas of juicy black fruit, raspberry, blueberry, licorice, tobacco and chocolate. In the mouth, it has a medium body, with elegant tannins and a wonderful finish. A delicate wine that you must try!

An excellent blend of 3 traditional varieties, 88% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, rated 93pts by James Suckling! Clarendelle Saint-Émilion 2019 has a deep purple color, with rich aromas of red fruit, blackberry, blackcurrant, pepper and chocolate. In the mouth it has a medium to full body, with soft tannins. Notes of violets, spicy notes of pepper, chocolate and black fruits fill the palate with long aftertaste.

2 x Clarendelle Bordeaux White 2021 (2 bottles)

A complex and aromatic classic blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle from Domaine Clarence Dillon. Minerality, tropical fruit, citrus and rose compose a complex aromatic character on the nose, while in the mouth we have high acidity and a long aftertaste of ripe fruit. An elegant wine that you will want to drink again and again.

1 x Clarendelle Amberwine 2015

A combination of 2 different styles, noble rot (Botrytis Cinerea) and late harvest, with the blend consisting of Semillon and Muscadelle, while the name comes from the amber color the wine acquires as it ages. Ripe peach, pear, citrus and honey make up the complex aromatic character. Full bodied with a very good balance between acidity and residual sugars, with long aftertaste of candied fruit. The year 2015 is one of the best of the past decade!
