The new era of Limniona is here with Limniona New Age from Domaine Zafeirakis, and Burgundy was never closer. Are you confused? To make it clearer, the style of the classic Limniona by Christos Zafeirakis has managed to be reminiscent of Pinot Noir and has inspired other winemakers, too get their hands on this rising Greek variety. Christos Zafeirakis, however, is still full of surprises, making a new and very different Limniona, the Limniona New Age, which is expected to be a blockbuster!
Vineyards are located in Paleomylos of Tyrnavos. From the beginning of his career, Zafeirakis wanted to revive local varieties. One of them is Limniona, which was first launched in 2008. This new Limniona is a more approachable, option both price-wise and style-wise. It comes from 10-year-old vines and the winemaking process is even more deductive. It ferments with indigenous yeasts and ages in large, 5000-liter oak casks. Christos Zafeirakis seeks to create an even more fruity red wine, with a delicate character that is even closer to the Burgundian style!
And it's just great!
