Brolio Chianti Classico DOCG is a very impressive and well-structured red wine, which is difficult to forget. Every year it is released, it clearly catches the eye of major wine critics and has been awarded in the past by James Suckling and Wine Advocate! Fortunately, we secured a few bottles from the 2022 vintage and we say with great responsibility, that it is amazing.
Baron Bettino Ricasoli, also known as the Iron Baron was responsible for the formulation of the Chianti recipe in 1872. This formed the basis of the Chianti Renaissance. It is no coincidence that Brolio, the family's castle (and winery) is considered the emblem of the entire region. Currently, the winery is run by Francesco Ricasoli, who has managed to combine modern know-how with the wine heritage of his ancestors. His wines are top-notch, in every price range.
Brolio Chianti Classico DOCG in the year 2021, was made from 95% Sangiovese grapes, from the 5 most representative vineyards of Brolio. The small percentage of the traditional Colorino variety 5%, gave deep color and rich structure. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, after about 14 days of skin contact, while it was then aged in large second- and third-use oak barrels for 9 months, resulting in an elegant complexity, that never lost its fruity and fresh character.
Try it now but also in 5 years it will be magic.
