Malbec, like we say the official Argentine variety. Of course, though of French origin, it never managed to make a career in her hometown. In Argentina, on the other hand, in Mendoza, it gives wines that have conquered the world and get the greatest possible distinctions. From this neighborhood, Bodega Krontiras' Solar del Alma 2013 gathers the prizes one after the other.
Panos Zoumboulis, a good friend of Konstantinos Krontiras, is behind the wheel of one of Argentina's finest wineries. For Solar del Alma 2015 he wanted the elegant side of Malbec, the one with red and black fruits and slightly spicy flavors.
The vineyard gives it what it takes. Each plant produces only 1.5kg of grapes, so there you’ve got your condensation... Just 6 months in oak barrels are enough to round any edges and do not cover the fruit, leaving Malbec almost unaffected.
Solar del Alma means the sun of the soul. And in the soul of this Malbec, there is a lot of sun.
