Why do we love it?
Syrah is one of the most beloved red varieties of the Greeks and at Kitrvs Winery, they make one of the best ever! Every year Syrah - Kitrvs Winery swipes all the awards and medals, as it manages to masterfully combine the ripe black fruit of Barossa Valley and the elegance of the North Rhone.
In Pieria and specifically in the village of Kitros in Pydna, George Garypidis and his family are taking their job pretty seriously. Their attention in the family-owned, northeast oriented, vineyard is unique, and so is their persistence on the perfect management of every detail in all stages of winemaking. Low acreage yield, to achieve maximum fruit concentration, and perfect ripening of grapes, harvested by hand, form the basis. The careful vinification and aging in French oak barrels, for 13 months, emphasize the spicy and floral character of Syrah 2018. Juicy, rich, and expressive, this Greek wine's grace is comparable with those of the great Chateaux of Rhone.
Syrah 2018 of the Kitrvs Estate is enjoyable now but if you have patience it will reward you generously!

In the mouth, it has a medium (+) body, with medium tannins and crisp acidity. Aromas of sour cherry, cassis, raspberry, and cedar predominate.
