You may have tried blended whiskey, but not something like Ichiro's Malt and Grain whiskey!
Ichiro's Malt and Grain is a blended whiskey made up of batches of Scotch, Irish, Canadian and American whiskey by the legendary Japanese distiller Ichiro Akuto. Akuto is behind the Chichibu Distillery founded by his grandfather in 1940, carrying years of experience, knowledge and love of spirits on his back. The term complex is not enough to describe Ichiro's Malt and Grain whiskey because we are talking about a unique category. A blended world whiskey!
Ichiro's Malt and Grain took a lot of time and patience as all the different batches were aged individually for 3 to 20 years each in their own country and then transferred to the Chichibu Distillery for a further 2-3 years aging.
Nose reminiscent of sweet caramel, vanilla cream and popcorn, with peach and dried apricot lingering and fresh citrus aromas emerging on the finish. In the mouth sweet malt dominates with notes of vanilla, gingerbread, tropical fruits, black pepper, roasted chestnut and freshly cut straw. In the strong aftertaste, vanilla, peppery character and dried tropical fruits stand out.
