The perfect balance between Islay and Speyside!

Why do we love it?

First released in 2023, Lum Reek 10 Yo Cask Strength returns with its second batch from MacNair’s, blending the spirit of GlenAllachie with malt from two unique regions of Scotland! And all this, with the power and purity of a Cask Strength whisky!

With nearly 50 years of experience in the whisky industry, Billy Walker, who acquired the GlenAllachie distillery in 2017, decided to enrich the distillery’s single malt range by creating a series of blended malts. These expertly marry whisky from the Islay island with whisky from the broader Speyside region. Thus, the MacNair's series was born, achieving a perfect balance between the peaty, smoky character of Islay and the sweet, rich elements of Speyside.

The complex aromatic profile is a result of careful maturation in a combination of oloroso sherry casks, virgin oak barrels, and red wine casks, adding depth and complexity.

The nose offers a rich bouquet of salted caramel, cinnamon, dried fruits, milk chocolate, and cookies, followed by hints of smoke and earthy undertones. On the palate, it delivers an intense smoky experience, reminiscent of charred herbs and orange peel. Black pepper, nuts, and coffee lead to a long finish with herbal notes, ginger, and lingering smoke.

70cl – 55.8% ABV
