The 12-year-old Lum Reek from MacNair is an excellent blended malt that combines single malts from two of the most famous whisky-producing regions in Scotland, Islay and Speyside. Its recipe includes a blend of peated and non-peaty whiskies to enhance the complexity and flavors. The addition of aged GlenAllachie single malt to the above blend gives depth and a very special character. The distillate has passed through red wine, Pedro Ximénez, and bourbon barrels, offering rich and multidimensional flavors.
Its copper color testifies to its passage through different barrels, while its aromas simply confirm it. Butterscotch, mocha, nutmeg, heather honey, peat, barley, and clove in a long and very enjoyable aftertaste.
*the name Lum Reek comes from an old Scottish expression, “Lang may yer lum reek,” which means “may your chimney always smoke a lot!”. A wish for warmth and prosperity!
