A Chardonnay from its homeland, Burgundy, is always great news, let alone coming from the oldest family in the area. Bourgogne Blanc Les Setilles - Olivier Leflaive is a unique, classic, fine white wine and a typical reflection of the variety and the region.
Joseph Leflaive after World War I and after having gone bankrupt decided to turn to the vineyard land he had in Burgundy. Over the years he expanded and the next generations took over. In 1984, Olivier Leflaive decided to make his own winery. His advantage is that he knows the oldest and best producers of Burgundy, from which he gets grapes for some of his wines. His philosophy is to simply make amazing wines. And we believe he does. Bourgogne Blanc Les Setilles - Olivier Leflaive is produced from grapes coming from top vineyard sites in Cotes de Beaune, Cote Chalonnaise, and Hautes-Cotes de Beaune.
After the fermentation, it remains in a stainless tank and on its fine lees for 4 months. Then the 80% of the wine, matures in oak barrels for 11 months.
You can drink and enjoy it now but will get even better over the next 3-4 years.
