Do you remember the Oreivatis Savatiano Old Vines from Akriotou Winery, which made you change your mind for this variety? Get ready for Oreivatis Wild, the winery's new venture, making its first entry into the ramparts of the demanding California market!
At the foothills of Kithairon, in Platae Viotia, Vasiliki Akriotou took advantage of her father-in-law's abandoned vineyards and with an eye to do something different from all the rest winemakers, she decided to give a step to Savvatiano and highlight the deliciousness of this variety!
For Oreivatis Wild, the grapes were harvested from vines 40-60 years old, at altitudes of 280 to 380 meters. Yields, as would be expected, are about 500 kg per hectare in a total crop of only 50 hectares. Let us also tell you this, the specific vines are grown completely dry! The wine is fermented with wild yeasts, under controlled temperatures, in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, it remains in contact with the lees for 18 months. That is the reason for its aromatic character, its awesome concentration and balance!
It is bottled in 5,000 bottles/year in total, but don't be fooled by the number. Hurry up to buy yours, because the population of California in 2022 was 40 million...
The wine calls out for seafood appetizers and grilled fish!
