Sophia Efrosini Winery is a rich and complex white wine that manages to combine the structure of Chardonnay with the fruit and the oiliness of Vidiano, in an incredible ensemble.
Efrosini winery is located in the area of Kerasia, in the municipality of Heraklion. The area was known, until the 1990s, for its excellent raisin production. Now, in addition to raisins, it also makes wines of superior quality. Efrosini winery deals with both indigenous varieties such as Vilana, Thrapsathiri, Liatiko, Mandilari and Kotsifali, as well as international ones such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Chardonnay. Their wines are famous for the excellent value for money ratio and their expressiveness. A new addition to their range is Sofia which combines the French Chardonnay with the Cretan Vidiano. The wine matures for 6 months in French oak barrels acquiring exuberant and complex character.
