If you like to drink velvety and elegant red wines all summer, you will surely know that they also allow you to chill them slightly. If juicy cherry and strawberry wrapped in vanilla and tobacco are to your liking, we have found the easiest comfort wine in a can for you.
Simon Rollings and Lisa Solovieva met in Bath, during their MBA studies. And while they had both worked in the food and beverage sector, they decided to bottle good quality wine in aluminum cans, thus saving energy from producing glass bottles, and reducing the carbon emission produced during their transport. So since 2019, they have been working with some of the best winemakers in Europe, who follow principles of sustainable and organic cultivation. The bulk wine they produce is then transported and bottled by Canned Wine Co, in aluminum cans, ready for immediate consumption!
No.5 is produced in Catalayud, Zaragoza, Northern Spain which follows regenerative viticulture so no product goes to waste. Recently they also created their charcoal from the remains of the vine. The vines are 45 to 100 years old and are called "survivor" vines, due to their arid cultivation. The concentration of the fruit is a given and after fermentation the wine stays for 12 months in a barrel, gaining volume and extra complexity. Behind all this is MW Norrel Robertson, who with so many innovations has also entered the Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino, the elite promotion of Spanish wines in England.
After all the above, the aluminum can is just a detail that intrigues you even more. If you are thinking of barbeque on the beach after the evening swim, it is ideal. Just try it!
