Champagne Brut Reserve Bereche et Fils is not just another Champagne but an object of desire, (92 pts Robert Parker and James Suckling!) result of a revolution. Back in the days, in Campania, wine growers were forced to sell their grapes in the great "chateaux" and thus did not make their own wine. The winegrowers rebelled and now everyone is making their own Champagne, expressing their land and desired style.
And now we'll analyze why Champagne Brut Reserve Bereche et Fils is an object of desire for collectors, sommeliers and wine lovers. The winery of Raphael Bereche and his son is one of the most appealing boutique wineries in the region, producing very few bottles that you have to work really hard to find. The winery was founded in 1847, but the wind of change, which began to make it worldwide known, began to blow in 2004, when Raphael's son, Vincent entered the business. Having learned all the secrets of Champagne from their ancestors, they are today two of the most successful oenologists in Campania.
Brut Reserve is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in equal proportions. Fermentation is carried out exclusively with ambient yeasts in futs (oak tanks) and small vats. The 70% of the blend consists of wine of the current vintage while the 30% is a blend of reserve vintages. The blend matures in the bottle (sur lattes) for 24-36 months. Their goal is simple, to make a wine of remarkable complexity that can look iconic champagnes straight in the eye. And they succeed, every time!
