If you are looking for a wine that smells of summer, the Mythic River Rosé 2017 Constantin Gofas Estate is probably what you were waiting for! Even better, if you were waiting for six of them, the sixth is on us!
With viniculture history going back in time, in 1959 Gofas family decided to utilize the privately owned vineyard in Koutsi and Daphne, by investing in the construction of its own winery. In 2011, Constantine Gofas, the successor of the family history, relocated the winery to new, state of the art facilities next to the river in the middle of the vineyards.
The Mythic River 2017 Constantin Gofas Estate is the first rosé he produced. With the legendary river Asopos flowing just beside the winery, the name was easy to pick. Agiorgitiko (85%) and Syrah (15%), from the vineyard Simarkou, in the "grand cru" village Kuci Nemea, are combined in a blend with unexpected results. The cold extraction and the low temperatures throughout vinification helped maintain all the primary flavors and aromas of the grapes in unprecedented levels, with the acidity refreshing the palate.
