Why do we love it?

Crasto Superior Branco 2023 is one of the wines that deserves and will catch your attention. Its name comes from the Douro Superior region, where the grapes are located in very privileged vineyards, which is uniquely reflected in the captivating aromas and freshness of the wine. Get ready, it will seduce you!

Quinta do Crasto is located in a privileged spot in the demarcated Douro region in Northern Portugal, and has belonged to the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for more than a century. Like all other great Douro estates, Quinta do Crasto dates back far to antiquity and is said to have been producing wine since 1615! The name Crasto comes from the Latin castrum which means “Roman fortress”. Today it has 74 hectares of exemplary vineyards, such as Vinha Maria Teresa, Vinha dos Cardanhos de Cima, and Vinha da Ponte, which offer wines of unique quality and character. It produces white and red Douro wines, premium Port wines, and extra virgin olive oils, which attract the attention of wine critics every year like a magnet, while it is included in the World's Best Vineyards list, holding first place in Portugal.

Crasto Superior Branco 2023, is a blend of indigenous varieties 60% Vioshino and 40% Verdelho, from the Quinta da Cabreira vineyards where there are 114 hectares of 26-year-old vines. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the freshness of the varieties, while the 45-day stay in French where fermentation continues, gives body and complexity. Before bottling, it is aged for 6 months in French oak, 50% new.

with chicken dishes, lemon sauces, baked pork, and sweet and sour flavors.

Stuffed chicken roll with quince and potatoes in the oven

  • 1 stuffed chicken roll
  • 1kg potatoes cut into small pieces
  • 500 gr quince cut into thick slices
  • 2 lemons (juice and zest)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsps. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. curry powder
  • 1 tbsp. fresh oregano
  • 1 tbsp. fresh thyme
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 600 ml of vegetable stock

Preheat the oven to 250 ° C. Add the olive oil to the casserole, then the chicken roll, the cut quince and the potatoes.

Mix the remaining ingredients with a small portion of the stock and pour the mixture on the roll and potatoes. Add stock so that the mixture covers the potatoes.

Cover the casserole and, after lowering the oven to 150 ° C, put it in the oven. From time to time we open the casserole and check whether we need to add some water.

Once ready, uncover the casserole and raise the oven temperature. Leave it there until it's golden brown.
