Why do we love it?
The Riesling 2024 from the Papargyriou Estate comes from a variety that was touched by Midas and transformed into a unique white wine. Riesling is the favorite white variety of Giannis Papargyriou, and he could not help but transform it into a wine full of respect, love and devotion, to make this a special dedication to his parents.
Giannis Papargyriou walks the path of absolute success, no matter what he does. The family began in 1978 to deal with wine when his father, Aristides, an agronomist with a love for wine, founded the Estate in Laliotis, Corinth. His son continues to this day, with each of his wines, to capture the character of the winery!
So it was not in his nature not to deal with the best white variety for him. The clones were carefully selected from among the top German ones, where both he and his sister studied and did their master's degree. The vineyard was planted in the Rodofylli location, in Sofiana, at an altitude of 950 meters with a unique terroir that allows for excellent ripening, so that the grapes can develop the absolute finesse and aromatic intensity. The Riesling 2024 from Papargyriou Estate comes from the first harvest of this vineyard.
The wine was fermented with indigenous yeasts in the tank, while it remained for 3 months with the lees and frequent bâtonnage, to highlight the richness and complexity of the variety. There the acidity softened and gave a very impressive result, with the minimal unfermented sugars making it extra enjoyable. It was bottled unfiltered, in a limited number of bottles, and it's already going wild!

Tastes Like
In the glass, it is lively and lemony. It has a moderate aromatic character with lemon, lime, and bitter orange zest framed by fresh peach and jasmine.
In the mouth, the body is moderate (+), with crisp acidity and oiliness that balances the result. Lemon, lime, grapefruit peel, and toasted bread. The aftertaste leaves the characteristic minerality of the variety.
