Rimpatrio Limited Edition Gkirlemis Winery is a wine with so much attitude and freshness that it will make you check several times the vintage on the bottle, not being able to realize that it is a wine of 2018! Rumor has it that Greco has its roots in Central Greece, but maybe it is from Domokos in particular, who knows?
In 2007, Gkirlemis family started the studies and experiments to select the most suitable varieties that will be planted in the 350 acres of privately owned vineyards in Domokos. With the help of a team of experienced viticulturists and oenologists, they gave their best to highlight a special and uncharted terroir, that of Domokos. From the very first samples, the results were quite encouraging, but this year we consider that they are going through their best phase. After the "classic" varieties, they decided to deal with the "exotic" Greco. Greco is a variety of Italy that is rumored to have Greek roots, hence the name Greco and the Rimpatrio, which symbolizes the repatriation of the variety. The variety was planted in 2010 and the first bottling was in 2018. The wine matures for 8 months with its fine wine lees, in stainless steel tanks and then for a year in the bottle. The result is impressive and unique with great aging potential.
