LIPSI WINERY
Two winemakers, Manolis Vavoulas and Nikos Gryllis, joined forces in 2013 to create Lipsi Winery on the island. In the vineyards spread over an area of 45 acres, the varieties Fokiano, Asyrtiko, Athiri, Mandilaria and Syrah are grown. Fokiano variety, which is an ancient , indigenous variety, owes its name to Fokea in Mikra Asia and according to tradition was given as a gift from God Dionysus. In Lipsi winery, is responsible for the production of one of the most important dessert wines which is called Aposperitis.
